What is dental crown
A dental “crown” or a dental “cap” is a tooth-shaped encasing placed over the teeth to enable restoration of its dimension and strength. The crowns cover the portion of the teeth that lie above the gum and are visible. A dental crown can repair a worn down or broken tooth, can support a dental bridge by holding it in place, disguise a dental implant and protect a cracked or weak tooth. Besides, they are part of the cosmetic modifications and other damage prevention dental treatments.
